Compact Size: In 1992, Tracker created the first pocket-sized receiver employing patented antenna technology and the latest advances in micro-electronic design. Tracker has greatly simplified receiver operation allowing law enforcement personnel to focus on locating the transmitter rather than operating the receiver. Patented technology allows for the design of antennas shorter than their electrical length. This permits the antennas to fold inward along the receiver creating a compact single unit comprised of a receiver and antenna. The receiver measures only 8 " x 2" x 1 " (with antennas folded) and fits into a cordura holster that can be worn on a belt.

Durable Construction: The receiver is housed in a casing that is milled from a solid aluminum bar. In addition, the antenna elements are virtually unbreakable. The durability of the receiver permits a warrantee of 10 years on the body and antenna and 3 years on the electronics.

100 channels: The Maxima Receiver is programmable and is capable of storing 100 individual frequencies between 216.000 and 220.999 MHz. Each frequency is assigned a memory location number to facilitate operation. Any frequency in the 216 to 220 MHz band can be programmed into the receiver at any time. Receivers monitoring frequencies 433.000 to 434.999 MHz are also available.

Audible and LCD Signal Detection: Bearing to the strongest signal can be detected either audibly or by viewing a graph on the LCD. Jacks on the base of the receiver permit the use of headphones and an external power (12 VDC) source (sold separately).

External Antenna connector: Some Maxima units come with and without an SMA connector for connecting an external antenna. When an external antenna is connected, the integrated antennas are disabled.

Two Modes - Automatic and Manual: One of the many innovations of the Tracker receivers is the Automatic mode of setting the gain control. Unlike many other receivers with a wealth of dials and switches, the Tracker Maxima allows the researcher to concentrate on the signal when in Automatic Mode. The sophisticated electronics detect the signal strength and sets the gain at an appropriate level to detect bearing to the transmitter. Manual mode is also available should the user desire to set the gain manually. A single button allows the user to toggle between the two modes.

Upgradeable : Maxima receivers can be ordered in a variety of configurations. The most economical is the Duo, which monitors a single range (for example 217 MHz) and has memory slots for two dog collars. Another popular model is the 1000/5 which also monitors a single range (1000 channels) but has 5 memory slots for up to five collars. The 2000/15 can monitor two contiguous ranges (for example 216 and 217) with 15 memory slots and the 5000/25 monitors all frequencies between 216.000 and 220.999 and has 25 memory slots. Any Maxima receiver can be upgraded to a higher model at any time for a nominal charge.
